The Doctor Who Experience 29/4/11

Royal Wedding Day! What did we do? Why, we went to London of course - to see the Doctor Who Experience! Yay. Strange but immensely enjoyable hour. First half we were shepherded through a succession of mildly interactive rooms, featuring excellent 3D, a shaking TARDIS console room, and a Dalek ship. Then we got the exhibition - a decent range of old and new cast and monster costumes, a couple of TARDIS sets, and some more, less exciting, interactive activities and videos. For us old timers, the real joy was seeing the old decomposing rubber monster suits, in rather better shape than we last saw them in 2005 in Blackpool (that's another blog entry right there), although it would've been nice if there'd been a few more of them. Still - a grand day out, and one that will live long in the memory. And cheap too - because of the wedding, they had to drop the prices enormously to get anyone in. And even then they were showing live footage in the cafe...
